Human Brilliance in the AI Age

Nurturing a Thought Full next generation

As the world shifts beneath our feet with every new technological breakthrough, we often find ourselves thinking about how best to prepare our children for the future. It is easy to get caught up in the anxiety of the AI Age, wondering if the skills we teach today will be obsolete tomorrow.

On Sunday, May 31st, the Senary Leaf Foundation and iHub at D-I-C-E partnered to host a free seminar in Princeton featuring Professor Po-Shen Loh. As a Carnegie Mellon math professor and the National Coach of the USA International Mathematical Olympiad team, Professor Loh’s academic credentials speak for themselves. However, what resonated with the parents, educators, and students in attendance wasn’t a lecture on algorithms but a profound conversation about humanity.

Professor Loh shared his pioneering insights on rethinking education, reminding us that a new model of success requires looking beyond traditional metrics. In a world where machines can replicate routine tasks with higher efficiency and accuracy, our truest value lies in what makes us uniquely human. His students are adaptive and successful because they focused heavily on personal growth in addition to their academic studies.

Professor Loh strongly believes that for us to thrive in the AI Age, we must link communities of people who are Thought Full, people who both love to think and love humanity. Empathy, strong communication, critical thinking, good character, and creativity are essential qualities of Thought Full people. Seeing our community gather to discuss these values reminded me of why we do this work. Cultural wellness and community roots aren’t just about honoring where we come from; they are about giving our youth the emotional and ethical anchor they need to navigate an automated world.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Professor Loh and everyone who joined us. Together, we can work to ensure that as technology advances, our humanity remains our greatest strength.
